CEP stabilization and control using a Dazzler
Fastlite now introduces a CEP analog control module, allowing to
modulate the Carrier Envelope Phase of optical pulses at repetition rates up to 30kHz.
Modulation follows either a digital signal input with a resolution of 25mrad (red square)
or an analog signal input with a resolution of 6mrad (blue square)

An example of this new module capabilities are shown below, where the Dazzler is used to phase stabilize a Michelson interferometer.
Error signal is measured for every laser pulse at 7.5kHz (red curve, open loop).
Phase correction is applied at the following pulse (black curve, close loop).

Using the digital input, phase noise can be reduced below 25mrad, down to the resolution of the system.
In the frequency domain, the remaining fluctuations are limited to white noise.
|
When combined with a fast and accurate CEP error detection system, The CEP analog control module
can be used as the control element in slow loop of CPA systems.
